Your First Session - Setting the Foundation

In your initial meeting, your mentor will get to know you, understand your career goals, and ensure you're set up for success. This includes:

How are Mentors Selected?

All our mentors are currently working professionals with at least 5 years of industry experience. We match you based on your goals, preferred tech stack, career aspirations, and learning style. If the initial pairing isn't perfect, we'll find you a better match.

Can Anyone Sign up?

The mentorship program is for adults only, so you must be at least 18 years old to sign up. Also, at this time our content and mentors are all fluent in English, we do not currently support other languages.

How much time should I expect to spend with my mentor?

You'll have a dedicated 45-minute weekly session with your mentor at a time slot that works for both of you, plus ongoing communication through your private Discord channel. 

Can my mentor help me with topics not covered in the courses?

Our mentors focus on helping you master the curriculum and apply those skills professionally. While they may share insights about related technologies they've encountered in their careers, the mentorship is designed to accelerate your progress through our proven learning path, not to provide tutoring on external coursework, or business consulting.

Will my mentor help me find a job?

Our mentors do not participate in job placement. However, they provide invaluable career support including resume reviews, interview preparation, networking advice, and industry insights. Many learners credit their mentors with helping them have the confidence to land their first developer role.

What happens if I need to miss a weekly session?

Life happens! Simply notify your mentor in a timely manner and reschedule through our platform. Your mentor understands that flexibility is important, and we'll work around your schedule whenever possible. Please be professional and avoid last minute cancellations!

Can I switch mentors if it's not a good fit?

Absolutely. While we work hard to make great initial matches, personality fit is necessary for effective mentoring. We'll help you find a new mentor if needed, with no questions asked.

What if I’m a total beginner?

Perfect! Our mentors specialize in guiding beginners through the basics. They remember what it's like to be new and know how to break down complex concepts into manageable steps. You'll never feel judged or left behind.

Do I still get access to all the regular course content?

Absolutely! The mentorship subscription includes everything from our standard offerings, plus the personalized mentor support. You get the full library of courses, projects, and resources.

How do mock interviews work?

Your mentor will conduct realistic technical and behavioral interviews based on current industry standards. They'll provide detailed feedback and help you practice until you feel confident facing real interviews.

How long should I stay in the mentorship program?

This varies by individual, but most successful learners stay for 6-12 months. Your mentor will help you assess your progress and determine when you're ready to succeed independently.

Do I have to stay on the mentorship plan?

Not at all! The mentorship subscription is month-to-month with no long-term commitment. Many students find the personalized guidance most valuable during their initial learning phase or when preparing for job interviews, then transition to our standard subscriptions once they've built confidence and momentum. You're free to adjust your subscription level whenever it makes sense for your learning journey.

Are there any additional costs?
